The Secret to Perfect Edges
"Bleed" is a printing term that refers to artwork extending beyond the final trim edge of the document.
Industrial cutting machines are incredibly precise, but even the best technology has a mechanical tolerance of a fraction of a millimeter. If your artwork stops exactly at the cut line, a microscopic shift during cutting will result in a thin, ugly white hairline stripe along the edge of your sign.
We require 0.125" to 0.25" of "bleed" on all print files. This means we print ink past the cut line. When the blade comes down, it slices through color, not paper.
We don't accept "close enough." Bleed ensures that your signs, business cards, and decals have a flawless, edge-to-edge finish every single time.
